Irreverent Testimony

So ok, yea. some of us may have had a glass of wine or 2 (or 3) while enduring the entire debate, pre-game to after-show reactions included. But it was a way less torturous exercise than the GOP ones. All in all a pretty good night, with some cringe-worthy, angering, and inspiring moments along the way. Enjoy our takes, the only ones that really matter, obviously. 

Bernie came to Boulder and all I got was this lousy contact high and sunburn. No, he just gave his stump speech, but we'll tell you all about it anyway. We get a little local-intensive and talk about the marijuana economy and how old Reefer Madness™ crowd is making sure it doesn't take off so that new schools and such don't get built. Guzzle all the booze and pop all the Oxys you want though, that's still kosher. Also, we give a forecast for the upcoming debates and remind you that Climate Change is a thing we shouldn't ignore despite the wonder of Trump's hair and something-something Hillary email server. I know, our priorities are inexplicable. 

Well, I wasn't expecting that. Neither was the rest of the House leadership, some of whom evidently actually burst into tears when McCarthy bowed out of the speakership race. Now what? Paul Ryan to rescue? How about another Gingrich reign? Ehh.. probably just means Boehner's nightmare comes true. (He's stuck) Oh joy, that should make everyone happy, no? Also, we talk about what the rest of the world is discovering about Ben Carson. (He's frigging nuts) We look ahead to the upcoming debates, and a sneak preview of what's at stake for future SCOTS nominations.  

The more we hear about Carly, the more it seems she's destined to be a real contender for the Republican nomination. Why? She's super-rich, miserly, and is a poster child for income inequality and CEO cash-grab culture, regardless of the effect on the economy at large. These are not detriments in the eyes of the GOP voting base. Also, we discuss how Bernie has some explaining to do re: gun legislation, and Hillary increasingly seems to want to ride his policy coattails (gun law record aside), even if it means contradicting her husband and Obama's positions. This should be interesting..

This one has less of the humor and joke sounds, etc. as we're still fairly sick about yet another massacre at the altar of the almighty 2d Amendment. Instead of the usual pontificating, we try to sort out the fact from fiction of what we know about yesterday's events. (so far very little)

Next Rachel explains how mansplaining and arrogantly cutting off Cecile Richards while spewing bullshit that had nothing to do with the alleged reason for the hearing in the 1st place might not have been the best look for Congressional Republicans as far as outreach to women, if that's still a thing any Republican pretends they still might be interested. (Spoiler: it isn't)

Finally, we examine the latest in the Kanye..errr..Pope n Kim saga. We're not so sure he even knew who she was, but he does now. Lucky him.

Pierre is off on sabbatical in Sri Lanka while Rachel is here again along with her husband Dana, to explain how this Pope is sort of like an Atheist/Satanist and stuff. Also, nipples (female ones) are being oppressed in Springfield, MO and Ben Carson is nuts. Boehner tells Congress to take this job and shove it, and God help the poor bastard who's next in line. 

We welcome a new member to the IT mafia. Rachel Hutcheson (gourmet cook and pro wedding florist extraordinaire) joins us as we ask rhetorically whether Carly is going to enchant lady folks in droves the way she's enchanting 50+ conservative men, by virtue of her lady parts. Her take may (will not) surprise you. 

Also, Trump winks flirtatiously at holdout Obama birthers and spews anti-vaccer swill, Carson hates Muslims, gay people finally gettin' lucky in Kentucky (no thanks to Kim Davis) and the Scott Walker campaign crashed and burns. Also, inventive young nerds who bring harmless inventions to school should be prosecuted, per besites: Dick Dawkins, Bill Maher, and Sarah Palin. (If they have brown skin and Muslim names that is) 

Travis recounts getting violently ill after enduring 5 hours of GOP debates (true story) and Pierre thinks Hillary and Carly should have a robot duel like at the end of Robocop. 

How's that Latino outreach going, Reince Priebus? Of course this question becomes rhetorical when you realize you're asking this of someone named "Reince Priebus." Anyway, any misplaced hopes this might actually be a thing for the GOP in 2016 has now been destroyed, mangled, butchered, and sent careening in the opposite direction. This likely was going to happen regardless of The Donald's entry into the race, but now it's warp speed ahead.. Let's alienate, denigrate, and insult anyone and everyone with a recent-generational immigrant background we can find (hell even current candidates are disavowing themselves).
