Yes, the Democratic primary is over..

Despite whatever Jeff Weaver and Shaun King are still saying.. and Arliss Bunny from the Hopping Mad podcast to put Hillary's nomination in historical context and of course to rip on Trump. 

Hillary 1, Trump 0 (get used to these daily tallies)

Hillary trolls Trump with epic foreign policy speech to try to get him to melt down, so he melts down. Also, JetBlue thinks women of a certain attire a threat to the morality of air travel and Bernie hates superdelegates so much, he keeps telling everyone they're going to help him win. 

They're awfully rapey in Waco and make the God damn Dem primary end already...please

Rachel and I delve deep into the Baylor football rape cover-up fiasco (starring the one and only Ken Starr, 'cause of course) and then discuss the great Bernie/Trump debate that was never to e, as well as lamenting the shitshow that this whole Dem primary has become. Thank God it's finally nearly over (we think). 

(A little) Common sense reigns in Oklahoma and more bathroom bill talk..

Dana joins us as we iron out the audio problems and bemoan how all the talk of awful North Carolina HB2 is solely about bathrooms before promptly focusing almost entirely on bathrooms. Sorry.. Also Dana deconstructs the similarities/differences between the Nevada state convention and Colorado's (which he attended). 

And now, a word from my spokesman..

Who just happens to sound exactly like me in tone, syntax, inflection, and incredible insecurity. The Donald likes to play little games like this, but that suits Paul Ryan, apparently. Also, lots of local stuff to discuss like an intrepid young high school student standing up to school board bullies (i.e. cheap Republican assholes driving out qualified teachers).

Then This IS real life? (You wanted Trump, you got Trump)

Greg Dworkin joins us to try to process the new reality, that Donald Trump is in fact going to be the GOP nominee. Republicans are freaking out. Some of them might actually support Hillary? We're skeptical, but Greg tries to convince us it isn't that crazy.

In the 2d half, we talk about all the horrific things Republican state houses are doing under the cover of presidential race coverage. Spoiler: it's bad.

Oh Oklahoma. Our friends to the southeast just can't seem to get it right. Whether it's trying to criminalize abortion doctors for doing their job or refusing federal money to expand Medicaid, they're trying to become the new Kansas, screwing their own people to spite Obama and folks like us, who don't even live there. Not to mention common sense, decency, and reason. This new controversy may take the cake though. Rachel will explain.

Also Ted Cruz is still from outer space but now has a lady surrogate, and Bernie changes tact heading into the home stretch.

Soup's On

Rachel, Molly, and I try to keep it together whole recounting the Ted Cruz newlywed 100 cans of Chunky Soup saga, and fail. Also, a quick recap of last night's debate and a few updates on the buyer's remorse for the North Carolina state house and their anti-LGBT law they hoped would fly under the radar. It didn't. Is Tennessee next? Remember our very 1st episode re: secession? Seems less crazy with each passing day. Speaking of crazy, Sarah Palin proclaims she's every bit the scientist Bill Nye is, and laugh all you want but this person is still very much a surrogate for the GOP presidential frontrunner. Maybe even his potential running mate. I mean, who else is gonna do it? 

Foot in Mouth Disease (campaign season strain)

Boy did they step in it this week. First Bernie questioning "qualifications," then Bill with all kinds of wrong confronting BLM protesters. Maybe the men should just quiet down for a minute. Voices carry... Anyway, Molly and Rachel do some what you might call venting, but in all honesty it's one of the better shows we've done. Wake grandma and the kids for this one. The gloves are off. 

The Panama Papers aren't for rolling joints..

At least it doesn't sound like it. We tackle what little we know about this growing world-wide tax evasion scandal (They're pissed in Iceland - and it takes a LOT to get them pissed) and take a look at tomorrow's Wisconsin primaries, today's rarely unanimous SCOTUS decision, and some other odds and ends. It's slap-dash, ill-prepared, and fairly stream of consciousness. Probably one of our better episodes. Shout-outs to some new listeners and email writers.
